About Me

My name is Mark Rackham. I have covered the sport of hockey for over twenty years.

As a huge advocate of the American Hockey League, you’ll find many articles regarding the league on my site.

However, this is not exclusively an AHL site. I write about various leagues in North America, Junior, European and UK hockey, Great Britain’s national teams and prospects.

I have covered GB tournaments in person including World Championships and Olympic qualifying events.

In 2016, I was a part of the Cardiff Devils online coverage when they hosted KHL team Medvescak Zagreb in a pair of pre-season exhibition games.

Previous work also includes providing articles used by professional teams for game-day programmes

I provide coverage of the Toronto Marlies (AHL) for the respected Canadian website, Maple Leafs Hot Stove. This includes game recaps and a variety of articles based on Toronto Maple Leafs prospects.

On top of writing, until recently I produced a weekly podcast entitled ‘Hockey from Across the Pond.’ I interviewed NHL prospects and various people from across the spectrum of the hockey world.

I also create video content on YouTube which can be sourced here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSK9pei_eW-BBEmNw2EAYVw

  1. Hi there, we like your articles on the Leafs and Marlies and have posted your latest one from wewantacup on our site. We have posted the link to wewantacup at the bottom of the page and also your twitter handle for people to follow you.

  2. Hello there

So Boston vs Pittsburgh is blacked out on the NHL because officially it’s being shown on Premier Sports (I spoke to them). But it’s not on Premier it’s on BT, and the NHL people don’t have a clue about that.

Dave…Long time suffering UK hockey fan.

    • Hi Dave. I can totally sympathise. Not surprised at NHL response as once they sell to IMG they have no interest in who holds the rights or fans having fair access to view. Having to own a subscription to at least three platforms to watch a single league is so infuriating but I can do here is try and present the facts. I hope the next deal is a lot better for us all.
