In late July of last year, the National Hockey League (NHL) and DAZN announced a multi-year partnership which will see DAZN become the exclusive home of ‘NHL.TV’ in nearly 200 countries beginning with the 2025-26 season.

For UK fans, NHL TV is still available via DAZN but with one huge caveat this time around.
Last season every game was available to stream on DAZN. This season that has changed, though at no point has the company explicitly promoted that fact.
Games broadcast ‘live’ on Premier Sports will ONLY be shown on DAZN after the event has finished.
Even when posting a tweet after the first game of the season, DAZN boldly claims you can watch every NHL game live!
To find any information on blackout games, you have to delve deep into the DAZN website. Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised that this isn’t easy to find.
I know this situation has left many fans frustrated. Trust me, I resonate with these feelings.
It’s not an insurmountable amount of money to watch the sport here, and potentially having to fork out for two subscriptions to watch games live is an extremely bitter pill to swallow.
I can never condone watching illegal streams, but understand why people feel compelled to head in that direction given the economic climate and feeling mistreated.

As previously mentioned, Premier Sports holds the television rights. As the majority of you probably know, I cannot in good faith tell you to subscribe to PS.
There have been several issues over the years.
These range from live games not being shown until well after the initial puck drop, to overrunning commercials, meaning you miss chunks of a game.
In my experience and that of many fans I’ve spoken with in person and online, customer service at PS leaves a lot to be desired.
