With no promotion or fanfare, the options to view the NHL in the UK are a little different, but clearer.

This makes a change from past history!

In late July, the National Hockey League (NHL) and DAZN announced a multi-year partnership which will see DAZN become the exclusive home of ‘NHL.TV’ in nearly 200 countries beginning with the 2025-26 season.

NHL.TV has been the primary way for the majority of fans outside of North America to gain access to the league, outside of individual national television deals.

The press release indicated that the existing NHL.TV subscribers will receive further details on the migration in the coming months. I received no such communication, nor did others I canvassed.

As part of the agreement, NHL.TV is available on DAZN as a standalone subscription or as an add-on to existing DAZN packages (excluding the U.S., Canada, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden).

If you already have an NHL.TV account, those same login details will still be applicable. If not, setting up an account is incredibly easy.

You can set up an account without payment to access occasional free games and highlight packages.

I urge you to read all terms and conditions before making a purchase.

Blackouts are the underlying issue for those wishing to select the online subscription model.

Technically, blackouts still apply, although they weren’t in place for games broadcast on days one and two of the season.
I will not publicly advocate workarounds, but it’s obvious to many that the option is available.

Premier Sports continues to hold the broadcasting rights in the UK.
