The Milwaukee Admirals lost their final game of 2023, snapping a four-game win streak in the process.
Since then, Nashville’s farm team has strung together eighteen consecutive victories, surpassing their previous record of thirteen.
Heading into 2024, Milwaukee had posted a record of 17-10-1.
A solid first three months of the campaign but certainly not leading you to believe that a new franchise record win streak was imminent.
Eleven of the eighteen games have been played on home ice but some of the best results early in the streak were achieved on the road.
After shutting out Colorado (1-0 and 5-0) at UW–UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, Milwaukee earned a hard-fought 3-2 success in Grand Rapids.
That was followed by two shutout success (2-0 and 7-0) in Henderson as they downed the Silver Knights.
The Admirals have been incredibly strong on home ice this season (19-4-0) and you have to go back to December 6, 2023 for their last defeat.
Much of Milwaukee’s success has been built on defence and strong goaltending.
Yaroslav Askarov and Troy Grosenick have a combined .921Sv% and seven shutouts (all posted during this streak) between them.
The Admirals have allowed a mere 26 goals and own the second-best defensive record in the league. They’ve also shown some steel during this streak, winning six games by a single goal.

The success has been against the background of Milwaukee having to cope without their top offensive players.
Denis Gurianov (30 points in 27 games) has been in the NHL while Mark Jankowski and Egor Afanasyev have been unavailable at different points. Those three are fifth, first and second in team scoring respectively, with Afanasyev the leading goalscorer with 21 goals.
It’s been three rookie forwards picking up the slack in Zach L’Heureux, Fedor Svechkov and Joakim Kemell, but also team scoring. Eleven players have recorded twenty or more points through the campaign.
Milwaukee has passed Baltimore Skipjacks (16), Philadelphia Phantoms (17) and Bakersfield Condors (17) on route to setting the second-longest winning streak in AHL history with eighteen.
The Admirals are a long way off Norfolk Admirals 28 consecutive victories, a record set during their successful 2011-12 season.
