The Manchester Storm have bolstered their goaltending with the acquisition of Jeremy Brodeur.
This isn’t the first time that he’s joined an Elite League team.
Brodeur put pen to paper for the Sheffield Steelers during the 2019-20 campaign but would fail to play a game before the season was cancelled due to the pandemic.
Brodeur’s success in junior is well known.
Playing for the powerhouse Oshawa Generals team, he backstopped them to OHL and Memorial Cup championships in 2017.

Undrafted, Brodeur has struggled to make a permanent mark in the professional game.
As a rookie, he enjoyed a fruitful campaign in the ECHL with Allen Americans.
Posting a .917Sv%, Brodeur won a team-high fifteen games as he shared the net with two other goaltenders that season.
The second year in Allen didn’t pan out so well.
The Americans weren’t as successful and Brodeur would be claimed off waivers by Norfolk.
A seven-game stint with the Admirals didn’t work out well either in a disappointing sophomore campaign.
The New Jersey native bounced back in the season eventually cut short by Covid19, regaining form and confidence with spells in the SPHL and Hungary.
Brodeur suited up in the AHL for the first time in the shortened 2020-21 campaign.
In three starts for the Binghamton Senators, the American netminder turned aside 107 of 116 shots for a combined 0.922 Sv%.

That short stint in the American League would earn Brodeur an AHL deal for the 2021-22 season with Providence. Unfortunately, his opportunity with the Bruins would boil down to a single period of action.
The 26-year-old ended up playing the majority of the year with the Maine Marines, with whom he won sixteen games in helping them to play-off qualification.
The Elite League provides a new start and a clean start for Brodeur.
Initially signed for the Norfolk Admirals, Brodeur was placed on waivers and claimed by South Carolina.
After two starts for the Stingrays, the parting of the ways occurs with South Carolina releasing the netminder.
Circumstances and opportunities have much to do with a goaltender’s perceived success or failure.
Brodeur does own a fascinating set of career statistics.
If he could showcase his AHL form over a larger body of work in the UK, then Manchester shall be delighted with their latest acquisition.
