Liam Steele makes his BCHL debut

Liam Steele has headed west in the latest instalment of his career.

The Great Britain defenseman signed with Chilliwack Chiefs for the 2022-23 season and made his BCHL debut last evening in the team’s seasonal opener on the road.

It was a successful evening for the Chiefs against the Langley Rivermen.

The teams are potentially evenly matched, as a solitary point separated them in the standings last season.

Chilliwack’s Captain got his team off to the perfect start following a scoreless opening period with a power play tally.

Though Langley would respond in kind, the visitors ended the second period on top.

A tidy finish from Sasha Teleguine gave the Chiefs a two-goal cushion.

The Rivermen would rally late but could not find a tying goal to prevent Chilliwack from claiming two points.

It was an excellent result in a chippy game featuring thirteen penalties, including one game misconduct.
