Ton in the AHL

As many of you who are reading this may know, I cover the Toronto Marlies and am an avid follower of the American Hockey League.

In two of the last three seasons, Toronto have recorded 100+ points during the regular season and I found myself wondering if this was a rare occurrence in the history of the AHL.

It turned out not to be the case as some time and research proved.

It took until 1969-70 and the 34th AHL season for the hundred point mark to be achieved.
Montreal Voyageurs were an expansion team and achieved the ton in what was only a 72 game season.

The following is a list of teams to achieve the single season, one hundred point feat plus details about various league changes through the years that have impacted upon teams being able to reach the landmark.
